Your stay

Departure

A short checklist before you head home - making sure the house is ready for the next guests.

  1. 1

Strip the beds and remake them with a fresh set of linnen (you can leave the mattrass covers). If possible: wash the dirty linnen and towels. If not: leave them in front of the washing machine.

  2. 2

Run the dishwasher and empty it, or wash up by hand. Please don't leave any dirty dishes.

  3. 3

Take all rubbish and recycling down to the bins and put in new bags. Make sure no food is left anywhere, to avoid attracting rodents. Don't forget to clean to coffee machine (especially the drip tray).

  4. 4

Empty the fridge of anything perishable; dry goods in the cupboard can stay for the next guests. Turn up the temperatures to save energy if the house stays empty for a while.

  5. 5

Lower the thermostats (both upstairs in the master bedroom, as downstairs in the little hallway) to 12 degrees.

  6. 6

Close all windows and shutters properly. Close the sunshade on the patio (use the Somfy remote: ensure the first light is on, and then use the arrows to close it).

  7. 7

Close all toilet lids, and sink drains to avoid nasty smells if the water in the pipes evaporates over time.

  8. 8

Turn on the active ventilation. The panel is on the wall in the kitchen. If the panel has no power, use the switch right below it to turn it on. Leave it on the lowest setting (smallest fan) and on the appropriate setting (winter: two arrows on the same side |  summer: one arrow on the left and one on the right)

  9. 9

Leave the house as you found it and clean where required (there are cleaning products, a mop and a hoover in the garage). Alternatively: ask us for the contact details of a local cleaning lady.

  10. 10

    Close the gate.

That's all. Safe travels, and thank you for taking care of the house. We really hope you enjoyed your stay!
